Add or Edit the OC Directory

An OC Directory contains the profiles for each of the Ordering Clinicians in an institution's source of truth.  An institution may have more than one source of truth correlating to more than one OC Directory.

1.  Select an institution from the drop-down list.

      • If an OC directory already exists, the name appears in the OC Directory list.

      • To edit only the name of the directory, and not its contents, click Edit.

      • If an OC directory does not exist, enter a name for the directory and click Save.

      • If you inadvertently create an OC Directory and do not intend to use it, click Delete. You can delete a directory as long as there is no existing configuration associated with it. Configurations that would prevent deletion of a directory include having OCs added to the directory; having groups associated to the directory; having the directory set as the Default Directory in MBS - Physician Directory Synchronization Configuration; or having an OC Grammar associated with the directory. If the directory cannot be deleted due to existing configuration, you will see the following message:

    2.  Click the link in the Directory Name column to open the OC Directory window.

3.  In the OC Directory window, filter your search for an OC using any of the following methods:

      • If the institution preference Enable Web Profile for OC is set to either Email, Fax, or Both, the Web form filter drop-down list is available. Use this filter to search for OCs whose web profile form status is either Approve Request, Resend Web Form, or Send Web Form. For more information about using the Web form filter, click here.    For more information about web profiling in general, click here.

      • Select the Search full or partial first of last name button, enter part or all of the OC’s first or last name, and click Search.

      • Select the Hospital ID button, enter part or all of an OC’s hospital ID as a search filter, and click Search.

NOTE: The Hospital ID search returns all values that match the string you enter into the text entry area. For example, if you search for 1234, the search returns any profiles that contain the numbers 1234 anywhere in the ID (i.e. 01234, 001234, 12340, 1234567, 891234).

In addition, the values that are returned match the entire search string that you enter, so be careful about including extra characters, especially leading and trailing zeros. For example, if you search for 02345, the search will not return 2345.

      • Click the letter with which the OC’s last name begins.

The results appear in a table beneath the alphabet links.

If your search did not locate any records that matched your selection, the results table shows the message No Records Available.

NOTE: To add a new OC from this window, click the Add Ordering Clinician link in the upper-right corner.

4.  Click any of the three available links to open the Edit Ordering Clinician Information window (Last Name, First Name, or Edit).
