Forward Message Dialog Box

To send the Actionable Findings message to another recipient, click the Forward Message button on the Message Details window to open the Forward Message to New Recipient window.

 

Recipient Search Guidelines

To improve performance when searching for an OC recipient to whom you want to forward a message, the following guidelines now apply:

-- The search returns only active physicians and clinical teams.

-- The search looks primarily for the First Name and Last Name of the OCs, and the Name associated with the clinical team. (Clinical team Short Names are not returned at the top of the list).

-- Search looks only for clinical teams with at least one device having an event type of Primary or ALL device notification.

-- Searches are not case sensitive.

-- In the event there are many similar names, you can search using phrases like Smith, Ro or Smith, Roger. The search recognizes that the Last Name appears before the comma character while the rest as first name of the OC. (This does not apply to Clinical Team).

-- If you want to view more than the standard results list, use the % character at the end of the search to return the top 50 names from which you can choose your recipients.

Drop-down list is available for institutions with multiple facilities. If the institution has only one facility, this list is unavailable (grayed out).

To and Cc

Begin typing the name of the ordering clinician or clinical team to whom you want to forward the message. A directory listing of all names appears. Select the name from the list.

Note: Only those clinical teams that are associated with the selected facility are displayed in the drop-down list.

Use Cc as backup

Select this check box to use the carbon copied user selected as a backup notification.

Forward Message

Reason

You must select a reason for the forward from the list. The items in the list will vary based upon the group.

Standard reasons include: Forward to OC (Forwarding to on-call Ordering Clinician); Wrong OC (Forwarding to correct physician); Other (Other reasons). Once you select a reason, some relevant standard text appears in the reason text box.

Close Original Message

Select to close the original message.

Note: This check box appears only for open messages and not for messages that are already closed. By default, this check box is selected.

Text box

Type additional information about the Actionable Findings message here. This information is stored with the message. If you are forwarding, you must include a detailed reason; for example, the name of the person who directed you to forward the message and the reason for the forward.

Finding

Original finding appears; you can select a new finding if necessary.
