Institutions: Highest organizational level in PowerConnect Actionable Findings. Each institution must contain at least one facility.
Facilities: Physical locations associated with an institution. For example, the Nuance Regional Medical Center institution has facilities in Melbourne, FL; Palm Bay, FL; and Rockledge, FL.
Groups: Collections of doctors (or lab technicians) who use PowerConnect Actionable Findings to generate automated communications. Groups are contained within an institution and can have a many-to-many relationship with facilities.
Subscriber: For radiology groups, a subscriber can be either a Specialist (sometimes called a Reporting Clinician in PowerConnect Actionable Findings) or a Group Administrator. For lab groups, a subscriber can be either a Lab Technician or a Lab Group Admin.
Ordering Clinician (OC): Provider who orders a particular radiology study or lab test.
Reporting Clinician (RC): Provider (Subscriber) who reviews studies or lab results and reports back to the Ordering Clinician.
Clinical Team: A patient care team, which can include doctors, residents, etc. Instead of sending results directly to the Ordering Clinician, results are sent to a team cell phone, pager, or fax. Frequently used in cases of 24-hour care such as ICU/CCU.
OC Directory: A master list of all providers who have privileges at an institution. In most cases, there is only one OC Directory per institution; however, the application can accommodate more than one OC Directory per institution.
Unit: Similar to a Clinical Team. Most common case is a floor or nurses station. If automated messages are sent to a Unit, on-duty unit members generally triage the results and determine next step. Most frequently these are lab results and not radiology results. For example, a lab message comes in showing low iron, but the patient is known to be anemic. This is not an actionable finding in this case.
Live Agent: Provides a direct link from reporting providers to ordering providers. Facilitates one-on-one communication but provides an electronic trail of the contacts. Example: A radiologist wants to talk to Dr. Jones and sends a message to a live agent. The live agent contacts Dr. Jones and puts him in touch with the reporting radiologist. PowerConnect Actionable Findings creates an entry in the system to show that contact path.
Agent Team: Group of Live Agents.
Actionable Finding Notification: The automated message received by PowerConnect Actionable Findings from reporting clinicians. PowerConnect Actionable Findings sends notifications of the test results to the ordering clinician, clinical team, or unit.
User Provisioning: In order to use the PowerConnect Actionable Findings web application, users need a user name and password. In order for a user to receive a password, they must provide their email address. The system sends the user an email that requires them to access the system initially and create their password. Once this process is complete, and they have logged into the system with their user name and password, they are considered provisioned in the system.
